Are you releasing a new patch to counter these problems?
Also will a complete re-installation get me past this mess?
It didn't for me I have unistalled and re-installed the client TWICE...still nothing.
I am currently in a unistalled state.
I am now going out for some ice cream perhaps when I return there will be a client I can download so I can play the game.
CCP please..fix this problem on your end,it is unreasonable that you expect us to fix this problem on our end.
Now!...I'm off to enjoy some pistachio ice cream.
Cheers

Originally by: Henry Loenwind o come on, there have been dozens of posts with exact instructions for many diffgerent setups already. is it that hard to try them?
if you're totally lost, open a command line window and type that:
dir \compiled.code /s/p
It should list you 2 instances (per EVE installation) of that file. One that is located where the programs are installed (the good one) and one where the configuration is stored (the bad one). Get rid of the bad one, e.g. by typing
del "c:\where\ever the\bad\one is located\compiled.code"
PS: To open a command line window: "Click on START, all programs, Accessories, command line" for XP. Or on START, "Run...", type "cmd" and hit OK. The second way should not be that different on Vista.
dir \compiled.code /s/p dont work........................
can we just redownload the clinet and it will work??!!
No!...I have tried to redownload the client TWICE...NOTHING. Now I am reading that there is nothing CCP can do about it...it was from January..Blah!,Blah,Blah!

Originally by: implanted do i delete the whole ccp folder or what for the 2nd time.....cmon ccp ffs i really dont understand pc jargon sh1t at all
um, "delete the contents" does not sound like jargon to me...
However, if you've found the correct CCP folder, then just "delete the contents", or if it's clearer "delete its contents".
I fyou're unsure if you've got the correct folder, look at its contents and the content of its content. There should be a couple of subfolders and one or more files with the name "compiled.code". That's the correct one then. If there's something like "prefs.ini" or "eve.exe" in it, then you got the wrong folder.
Umm? I did this...a complete unistall TWICE...and I reinstalled the classic client TWICE..still nothing.
What else is there to do? Am I missing something here?

You still haven't found the "correct" CCP folder. Try finding it using one of the countless methods posted in this thread. And, stop uninstalling, it won't help.
Thank you for your response.

Originally by: Severus Archanas Ya know what CCP make a patch that includes the fix not all of us are Techs for gods sakes STOP BEING LAZY! most of us have better things to do i work 10 hours a day 6 days a wek and id like to get on EVE to relax and run a few missons and not have to worry about fixing ur damn problems! like i said we arent all techs either fix it your damn self or im goin to delete my account and play a game that doesnt require the paying customer to fix the creators problems its ticking me off! if someone happens to find a fix for Vista standard give a set of instructions which CCP WONT do =_="
This...except for the delete account part.
